Supports the Assembly department through fabrication, repairing, or by applying appropriate welding techniques. Can operate a variety of welding devices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs various welding methods that may include gas, shielded metal arc, gas tungsten arc, gas-metal arc.
- Ability to plan, layout, and perform diversified work as required.
- Positions various material to be welded using standard fixtures and applies eye-hand coordination to achieve the desired weld.
- Able to work from specifications, drawings, prints, and welding symbols.
- Identifies appropriate applications based on standard products and materials.
- Inspect completed welds for safety.
- The ability to run shop manual machines.
- Other duties may be assigned.
High school degree or equivalent; 4-6 years’ welding experience required.
